*TURTLE POLICE* Posts: 2,426 Group: Members Member #90 Joined: May 31, 2009 Location: lansdale pistolvania My Ride: MKIV GTI VR6speed Blog Please insert the title of your blog	well as most of you know, i took care of my timing chains and oil pump. now i think my front main seal is leaking..... problems: the passenger side of my engine bay is covered in fresh oil im going through 3.5 quarts of oil in a week and im burning oil (i cant tell if its burning off the block or in the cylinder) anyway, do i need to take off the timing covers again or can i get away with taking off the crank pulley and removing it with the timing cover attached? also, if the car is on for a long period of time i can start to hear a squeeling noise like a belt and there is funky smell. both started like 2 weeks ago

Posts: 282 Group: Members Member #385 Joined: February 26, 2010 Location: springfield,tn My Ride: 1997 240sx	Sounds like more then a front main seal leak to me. If It was front main the whole front of the engine would be cover in oil not just the right side.
