Everyone says they are going to run "stock" parts. It seems like a lot of money just for a daily and running it stock. If that is the case you'd be better off with an sr swap for a daily.

Rb25 isn't that much more than an s13 SR..
and is more powerful

don't forget getting the motor in the car and wiring compared to dropping an sr in. Also if you plan to mod ever look at cost of mods for each. While I'm all for rb and I'd rock an rb25 in my vert without thinking twice, just have to look at cost effectiveness from sr and rb.

While you are right about being cost effective it would be another 500-1000 in mounting kits and driveshaft but the i'd be alot happier with the outcome and feel more satisfied but if i do the newspaper thing like shawn and devote that entire paycheck to parts and use my ovrnights at wawa for misc. expenses i think i would be able to pull it off and still have more free time than i did working at great adventure while making more money lololol

Well of course you'd be able to afford but I was saying that cost wise if you are planning to keep it stock it'd be easier to just drop an sr and call it a day. That would be fine as a daily. I was looking to go rb back in the day, and I still would (except for new plans), but it seems like it would be a waste to drop it in and keep it stock. That's the kind of motor you swap in if you are looking for power, not just a stock daily.

Regardless of which motor you choose I won't be surprised if the swap gets done at our house again lol.

being a rb owner all i can say is make sure you have another car readily avalible to drive.
they seem to be prone to parts taking a shit... case in point my car is stuck at my job...

Why are you so set on rb, because it's a bigger motor and slightly more power. I've driven every motor there is and personally the noseweight of the rb just doesn't float my boat. When I was first getting into 240s I wanted an rb25 over an sr but now I would never do it. If you've put solid thought into it I say do what you want but if it's just because it has a little more power and it's an rb I would rethink it.

Also make sure you have atleast $1000 extra to play with before you commit to any swap because there Is ALWAYS extra unthought items you need

I think 5.5k is a little too high for the overall price
the engine goes for like 1800 plus change and the mckinney mounts and driveshaft can be found for 500-1000
and fuel pump
but even so that's still under 3k
and i doubt labor would be 2k
but that is just a shot in the dark....
