Off topic, are you caged or just doing amateur drift stuff? Because I know they inspect pretty well at the real deal events, even drill cages to measure tube thickness and material

...an life. you don't need a damn pogo stick under the car. it just doesn't make any sense.

i didnt read the thread. idc. the thing i like most about a one piece driveshaft is not having to deal with the carrier bearing. those suck sometimes. also the stock driveshaft weighs a lot. the weight differences in the steel and aluminum is minuscule. get a steel one piece.

anytime you start doing after market parts (i.e. flywheels, pulleys even drive shafts) the goal is to free up parasitic drag. which a alum and carbon fiber drive shaft will do... (carbon fiber on a street car is fail. as a friend found out.) anytime that a drive shaft has to go threw another bearing (carrier bearing) you are still loosing a minimal amount of power.

another reason to go one piece drive shaft is for strength. tho i haven't seen a 240 drive shaft fail yet. how ever i can't say i have seen anyone put north of 400hp on a oem one either... safety loops well yeah they are a must... unless you are looking to enter the Olympics w/ your car for possible pole vaulting. lol. tho at the drag strip i have seen some pretty damn close calls where someone did not have a loop and the damn thing came up threw the floor and missed th driver by a few inches.

not sure where the place is, but my bro in law was telling me theres a place either close or in morrisville that will make drive shafts to what ever material (steel or alum) and don't quote me on this but i want to say it was cheaper than the drive shaft shop in NC... as well have them balanced.
