I'm Just Interested In What Everyone Is Using On Here I'm Personally Looking For A R200V VLSD From A J30 Or Q45. It'll Be Nice For People To Post What They Have Or Planning To Get And Drop There 2 Cents Too.

from what i heard VLSDs are pointless b/c it only work for a matter of sec. if it works at all 2way or welded is the way to go

Most Def 2-Ways Are The Best But Welded I Wouldn't Do Unless Its A Strictly Track Car Plus They Make Weird Noises Lol. But I've Know And Heard People Using VLSD's From J30/Q45/300zx(N/A) And Works Great For Them Plus They're Cheap.

A welded diff is for mainly track use IMO. Do not get me wrong, many people daily welded diffs. A VLSD can be somewhat inconsistent, for track use, due to the basic principal of a viscous pack and the fact that it relies on heat in the vispcous pack in order for the viscous fluid to expand and, in turn, lock the wheel that is spinning. However, a VLSD is probably the most consistent/cheap option for daily use.

The good thing about a VLSD is that you can shim it where it works more like a 2 way. As long as the VLSD carrier is sealed, they will last. DONT PUT LSD ADDITIVE IN A VLSD..... its a sealed unit, its not needed and will wear it down.

If your going with a VLSD,, the easiest way is a 6 bolt ABS/JDM S chassis one, or a 6 bolt J30 diff.

Just spend 2 bucks on a shim, and put it back together correclty. If your serious.... Carbonetics, or Cusco, or even Nismo, Kaaz its a little on the cheap side for me.

Nick I notice yours has more of the hop then mine does.... I use a 3.698 ratio, where I think your on the 4.08 factory ratio. Mines isn't bad, I don't daily the thing, but when its out its not bad to drive, just gotta slow down on those on/off ramps.

Personally I'd go with a welded if you are going to be drifting. VLSD is good for street use but if you are going be drifting for any amount of time the thing is useless. I have a VLSD myself and can't wait to get rid of it. When I first put it in I thought it was the best thing until it decided it didn't want to be a lsd anymore and threw me into a curb.
